This one-of-a-kind Rutilated Quartz free form measures approximately 1 1/2" in each direction and is filled with an extraordinary network of incredibly fine Rutile threads.  The transparent Quartz allows the golden, coppery and silvery needle-like inclusions to remain visible throughout the stone, shifting dramatically as the piece is turned in the light. Some areas contain dense clouds of exceptionally fine Rutile, while longer individual strands cross through the Quartz in seemingly every direction.

Its geometric free-form cut creates multiple flat surfaces, allowing the stone to literally stand or sit on almost any side. There is no single front, back, top or bottom — each position reveals a different view into its intricate interior.  (Many of the photographs have been taken very close to the stone to showcase the remarkably tiny Rutile threads and internal details.)

Rutilated Quartz combines the energetic traditions associated with Clear Quartz and Rutile. Clear Quartz is traditionally connected with clarity, intention and amplification, while Rutile is associated with energy, momentum, illumination and helping bring greater awareness to what may previously have felt unclear.

Turn the piece onto another side and the view changes completely. Threads that nearly disappeared suddenly catch the light, while others recede into the background.

Perhaps that is part of the magic of Rutilated Quartz. Not every connection is immediately visible. Some seem to appear only when we become still enough, shift our perspective or allow ourselves to notice what was there all along.
